Construction Phase Timelines

Morrissey Design + Build works with a small team of preferred vendors on every job. This allows us to keep timelines as short as possible as your project gets our full attention. Still, we try to set the expectation that your project could take longer depending on design, weather factors, and material delays. 

These timelines are rough estimates of how quickly a project can take when you choose Morrissey Design + Build. 

  • Kitchen: 5-8 Weeks

  • Bathroom: 4-6 Weeks 

  • Basement: 5-8 Weeks

  • Room Addition: 6-12 Months

As your interior design and construction team, we want to ensure that we understand what you’re looking for or need in a new space. Whether we’re remodeling the entire kitchen, reconfiguring the first floor, or updating a half bath, we want to know exactly what inspires you and what your style is. 

Don’t Be Surprised By…

  • We do our best to contain it, but you may see some dust throughout your house.

  • It’s just the nature of the beast. Demo and construction are usually noisy, so be prepared to work away from home or in another part of the house.

  • We do all that we can to foresee potential problems, but there is always a chance something will pop up. Because of this, we always factor in a buffer amount to allow for unforeseen issues in each client's budget.

  • Snow falls, people get sick, cars break down, and sometimes items break in shipping. While we pride ourselves on how quickly we complete our projects, being aware that delays can happen allows us all to be resilient when we need to shift a schedule.

  • Where should that outlet be? How high do you want the showerhead? Where do you want the cabinet hardware mounted? Oil-rubbed bronze or chrome? Or brushed nickel or satin nickel? Count on answering plenty of questions in a timely manner to keep your project on schedule.

  • At the end of your project, expect one or two punch list items to take longer to resolve than anything else. It may be a light fixture that arrives broken or the very last two pieces of tile. Getting the final details right is important, even if they take a little longer.

  • For example, we cannot order your countertops until the cabinets they sit on are fully installed. We cannot measure or order your shower glass until all of the tile is installed. We can’t install your appliances too soon, or they might get damaged.
